Casa Batlló: Which Ticket to Buy? A Complete Breakdown

Are you trying to decide which ticket to buy for Casa Batlló? I’ve been in your shoes and even opted for the expensive one. Spoiler: I don’t think it’s worth the extra cost, and in this post, I’ll explain why.

No matter which ticket you choose, here’s one tip upfront: buy it online to save money. Prices at the door are higher, and tickets can sell out fast during peak season. You can even buy tickets on your phone right in front of Casa Batlló if there’s availability.

Ticket Options

You have three different ticket options if you decide to visit Casa Battló (not counting special time of day tickets, like early morning or night tickets).

Prices vary based on the day and time of your visit, so not all tickets of the same type cost the same.

A comparison chart of Casa Batlló ticket options: Blue, Silver, and Gold Tickets. The Blue Ticket (€31-€45) includes an audioguide, Gaudi Cube (360º), and the immersive Gaudí Dôme experience. The Silver Ticket (€39-€53) adds an Augmented Reality Tablet and access to the Original Concierge Room. The Gold Ticket (€41-€55) includes all Silver benefits, plus access to the private residence of the Batlló family, FastPass, flexible date changes, and free cancellation.
Casa Batlló Blue, Silver or Gold Ticket Options

The main difference between the blue ticket and the silver or gold ticket is the Gaudí Dome and the Augmented Reality Tablet. So, let’s have a closer look if they are worth it.

Is Gaudí Dome Worth It?

This image shows an immersive, surreal exhibit likely part of the Casa Batlló experience. The scene is bathed in green lighting, with organic shapes and flowing patterns projected onto a table and floor. Twisting, tentacle-like structures appear to grow from a central column, while vibrant flowers glow on the walls in the background. The dreamlike atmosphere evokes Gaudí's connection to nature and fluid architectural forms.

In my opinion, the Gaudí Dome isn’t worth the extra money. It’s essentially a dark room in the basement with a figure of Gaudí leaning over his desk, surrounded by a light show projected on the walls.

You stand on a conveyor belt that slowly circles the room, but the entire experience felt underwhelming. While it might sound interesting, it didn’t add much to my understanding or appreciation of Gaudí’s work, and I wouldn’t recommend paying more just to see it.

Is the Virtual Reality Tablet Worth it?

The Virtual Reality Tablet primarily shows how the rooms once looked with furniture, but I found the CGI furniture unimpressive. It doesn’t adjust based on where you’re looking, so you have to stand in specific spots to match the tablet’s view with reality.

While it does highlight Gaudí’s nature-inspired elements, like showing a window turning into a turtle, it goes overboard when the turtle flies through the room. Overall, I felt the regular audio guide would have been enough without the added gimmicks of the tablet.

Is the Casa Batlló Silver Ticket Worth It?

In my opinion, the Silver Ticket isn’t worth the extra cost. It includes the Gaudí Dome and the Augmented Reality Tablet, both of which I found disappointing. The dome is just a small, dark room with a basic light show, and the tablet’s CGI elements felt unrealistic and unnecessary.

The only other added bonus is the Concierge Room, which is quite small and you can only view it through a glass wall, making it less impressive than expected.

Overall, the added features didn’t significantly enhance the experience, so I’d recommend saving your money and opting for the standard ticket instead.

Is the Casa Batlló Gold Ticket Worth It?

In my opinion, the Gold Ticket isn’t worth the extra cost. It includes the Gaudí Dome, the Virtual Reality Tablet and the Concierge Room, same as the Silver Ticket.

The only difference from the Silver Ticket is access to the Batlló family’s private residence, which felt like a typical old living room, lacking the unique charm of Gaudí’s designs.

The Gold Ticket also lets you skip the queue, which might be handy during peak season, but it wasn’t necessary when I visited in October.

I recommend choosing the cheaper Blue Ticket and using the money you save for a drink at the rooftop bar.

Final Thoughts: Is Casa Batlló Worth It?

After experiencing all the ticket options at Casa Batlló, I believe the standard Blue Ticket offers the best value. The Silver and Gold tickets include features like the Gaudí Dome and Augmented Reality Tablet, which I found underwhelming, and access to spaces that didn’t feel worth the extra cost.

If you’re visiting Casa Batlló, save some money with the Blue Ticket and enjoy a drink at the rooftop bar instead! And if you’re curious about more Gaudí buildings to explore in Barcelona, check out my guide to the best Gaudí buildings in the city!
