5 Best Tours to Stonehenge from London

Stonehenge is one of the most famous landmarks in the United Kingdom and you can easily visit it on a day trip from London.

While it’s possible to get to Stonehenge by public transport, the advantage of taking one of the many tours to Stonehenge from London is that you can visit multiple destinations in one day.

As impressed as I was standing in front of Stonehenge, there isn’t that much you can do at Stonehenge itself, so visiting another attraction is the best way to make the most out of your day.

My Top 3 Picks:

#1 Top Pick

1. Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, and Bath from London

Panoramic view of Stonehenge on a sunny day, showing the ancient stone formations against a backdrop of blue sky, perfect picture from a day trip to Stonehenge from Bristol.

āļø RATING: 4.5/5 Stars | ā³ TOUR LENGTH: 11 hours | āœ… Book it!

This tour is the best London tour to Stonehenge if you want to see as much as possible in one day. You’ll not just see the iconic Stonehenge but also the famous Windsor Castle and the charming town of Bath.

While itā€™s great to visit these top spots in one day, the downside is having less time at each. For instance, Bath is famous for its Roman Baths. One of my favorite activities in Bath was relaxing in a modern thermal spa, but you won’t have time for that on this day tour.

However, if you’re short on time and want to see the top sights in one day, this is the perfect tour for you.

This tour includes:

  • Comfortable Coach with Wi-Fi and USB Charging On-board
  • Knowledgable guide
  • Admission to Stonehenge
  • Admission to Windsor Castle & Roman Baths (if option selected)
  • Personal Audio Headset

Already the Romans knew about the hot springs in Bath

āļø RATING: 4.5/5 Stars | ā³ TOUR LENGTH: 11.5 hours | āœ… Book it!

If you want to spend more time at Stonehenge and Bath, this tour is the one for you. Since this tour only has two stops it’s more relaxed and you have more time to explore.

I also love how customisable this tour is, you can either choose to explore Bath on your own, or opt to visit the Roman Baths or the Jane Austin Centre with the tour for a more structured day trip.

Either way, you’ll have time for all the best things in Bath, like seeing the Pulteney Bridge, visiting Bath Abbey, or going for some delicious vegan food.

This tour includes:

  • Entrance to Stonehenge
  • Roman Baths or Jane Austen Museum (if option is selected)

3. Stonehenge & the Stone Circles of Avebury

Sheep grazing on vibrant green grass at Avebury Stone Circle during a day trip from Bristol to Stonehenge area, with ancient standing stones and tourists in the background under a blue sky.
At the Avebury Stone Circle you’ll be surrounded by sheep and not people

āļø RATING: 4.5/5 Stars | ā³ TOUR LENGTH: 10 hours | āœ… Book it!

If you’re interested in the history and mystery surrounding Stonehenge, this tour is a must-do for you. Not only do you get to visit Stonehenge, but you’ll also explore the ancient stone circles of Avebury.

This is great for anybody disappointed at Stonehenge that you can’t get close to the stones. At Avebury, you can get close and even touch the stones. Instead of crowds, you’ll likely find yourself among sheep, as I did during my visit.

Avebury is actually larger than Stonehenge and consists of three stone circles. The outer stone circle is the largest prehistoric stone circle in the world!

I visited Avebury on a day trip from Bristol and I loved it. The atmosphere is so much more relaxed and the little village of Avebury which is located within the stone circle is super picturesque.

This tour includes:

  • Live commentary on board
  • Professional guide
  • Air-conditioned vehicle
  • Stonehenge admission ticket included
