In this beautiful café, you pay around €10 for a coffee, which for Budapest is very expensive but ultimately isn’t that much considering the fancy location.

Budapest has a vibrant nightlife scene, with many unique ruin bars that have become a unique must-visit for tourists in Budapest. As cool as those bars are, they are not the cheapest since it’s a big tourist spot.

In a ruin pub the beer prices start at around €4. The average Budapest beer prices in restaurants are about 2€, but you can easily find cheaper options if you venture further away from tourist areas.

A ticket for any mode of transportation typically costs approximately €1.15. Alternatively, you have the option to purchase a pass containing 10 single tickets, which reduces the price per ticket compared to buying them individually.

There’s also a 24-hour travel pass available that costs about €6.50. But to be completely honest, it’s not worth it. Budapest is a very walkable city. Walking through the city is the cheapest way to get around and also the most scenic way.

I almost walked everywhere and just loved strolling through the beautiful city and discovering hidden gems along the way.

In truth, I believe that most of the best things to do in Budapest are free. The city is full of stunning architecture, scenic views, and historic sites that can be explored without spending a penny.

Budapest also offers a variety of free and cheap attractions that can enhance your travel experience, even if you’re on a tight budget. Here’s a short list of the best free and cheap things to do:

Walk Across The Chain Bridge: Built in the 19th century, it’s a great place to enjoy stunning views of the Danube, Buda Castle, and Parliament.
