An Honest Suri Toothbrush Review
Are you looking for an eco-friendly electronic toothbrush? Read this Suri toothbrush review to find out if Suri is the right toothbrush for you.
I’ve been using electronic toothbrushes since forever, at least it feels like it and my teeth always feel cleaner when I use an electronic toothbrush.
For the longest time I had a basic Oral-B toothbrush and to be honest I really liked it. But when the battery died I looked around for an eco-friendly replacement.
By chance I found the Suri toothbrush. Now I’ve been using it since over a year and even though there are some minor drawbacks, I couldn’t be happier with my Suri toothbrush. My teeth feel super clean and I love how robust the toothbrush is.
Now let’s jump into my Suri electric toothbrush review.
- Sleek, durable handle made out of aluminium
- Reparable because of modular design
- Free return of used heads in the US and the UK so they can be recycled
- Case with UV cleaning light great for travelling
- Sonic vibrations for ultra clean teeth
Suri Toothbrush Overview
Design
When I first saw the Suri Sustainable Electric Toothbrush, I was immediately impressed with its sleek design. I love how thin the toothbrush is and the aluminium handle gives it a durable feel. This design also contributes to the sustainability aspect of the toothbrush.
I love that the design is focused on both functionality and being eco-friendly.
The recyclable brush heads have medium soft bristles that effectively clean my teeth without being harsh on my gums. Additionally, the toothbrush handle has a comfortable grip that feels natural in my hand, allowing for effortless toothbrushing.

Recyclable and Compostable Materials
The toothbrush is made out of recyclable and or compostable materials. The brush head is made out of cornstarch and the bristles are made out of castor oil.
So, the whole head is compostable under specific conditions. The most eco-friendly way to handle your old heads is by sending them back to the manufacturer to be recycled. This is completely free from the US and the UK.
The handle of the toothbrush is made out of aluminium on the outside for longevity. On the inside, there are steel elements and the mechanics are in a modular design. This means it’s easier to repair should something break.
The toothbrush comes with a 1-year battery warranty, and they offer repairs for a fee afterward. It’s great that there’s a repair option, as fixing what you own is always more eco-friendly than buying new.
The packaging, as well as other components, are designed to be either recycled or composted once they have reached their end of life.
Sustainable Rituals
SURI stands for Sustainable Rituals since they want to bring more sustainability into our daily rituals with their eco-friendly toothbrush.
For me, sustainable rituals means creating less waste and being conscious of the materials I use in my daily routines. The Suri toothbrush’s recyclable brush heads make it easy for me to maintain my eco-friendly lifestyle and contribute to a cleaner environment.
USB charging is another feature that adds to Suri’s sustainability since I don’t need a special adapter just for my toothbrush.
Sonic Toothbrush
I’ve been using the Suri Sustainable Sonic Toothbrush for a while now, and I must say that my teeth feel very clean with it. This toothbrush boasts an impressive 33,000 sonic vibrations per minute, which effectively breaks down plaque and cleans my teeth.
The built-in timer vibrates every 30 seconds, so you can focus on each area in your mouth for the same amount of time. And after 2 minutes the toothbrush turns itself off.

Functionality and Accessories
Sonic Vibrations and Modes
SURI electric sonic toothbrush uses sonic vibrations to clean your teeth. It also offers two different modes – cleaning and polishing. The polishing mode feels a little bit too aggressive for my taste so I prefer the cleaning mode.
Battery Life and Charging
One of my favourite aspects of the SURI toothbrush is its impressive battery life. After fully charging via USB, I can use it for easily over a month without needing to recharge frequently.
This comes in handy, especially during my travels, as it means one less thing to worry about during my trips.
Additionally, USB charging makes it convenient to charge on the go, using a power bank or even a laptop.
The only downside is that for SURI toothbrush charging you always need the charger, it doesn’t charge when you plug in the travel case. But the charger is very small and lightweight so it’s no problem to pack it.
UV-C Cleaning Case
I must say, I didn’t expect much of the travel case, but I love it! It’s so convenient for travelling as it doesn’t just keep my toothbrush clean, it also actually cleans my toothbrush and kills bacteria.
The case uses UV light to eliminate germs and bacteria, ensuring that I am always using a clean toothbrush. This adds an extra layer of hygiene protection that traditional toothbrush covers may not provide.
It’s one of my favorite minimalist travel essentials and I bring it on every trip in my Patagonia backpack.
So in my review SURI toothbrush gets an extra plus point for the UV-C cleaning case.
Tongue scraper
For a comprehensive clean, I appreciate the inclusion of a tongue scraper attachment at the back of the SURI toothbrush head. This allows me to keep my tongue fresh and free of bacteria, contributing to my overall oral health.
Mirror mount
The magnetic mirror mount ensures that the toothbrush remains easily accessible and neatly stored in your bathroom. You simply stick the mirror mount to the mirror and then the magnetic mount holds the toothbrush.
Pros of Suri Toothbrush
Now, let’s come to the pros of this SURI sustainable sonic toothbrush review.
- I love the slim, stylish design that looks great and reduces plastic use.
- A top feature of this toothbrush is its recyclable brush heads, which you can return for free recycling in the UK and the US.
- The impressive 40-day battery life and USB charging make it easy to keep the toothbrush powered and ready for use.
- The toothbrush’s modular design makes it repairable. This is a big plus, as most toothbrushes get thrown out and replaced because they’re too difficult or impossible to fix.
- I hope that my SURI toothbrush never dies just knowing that it can get repaired feels great.

Cons of SURI Toothbrush
I’ll be completely honest there are some cons and since this is one of the honest SURI toothbrush reviews I’ll talk about them here.
- The SURI toothbrush doesn’t have a pressure sensor. Their website says holding it lightly with your fingers avoids too much pressure, which works but feels odd. However, I’ve never had an issue with applying too much pressure.
- Storing the toothbrush upright can lead to dirty sensors and corrosion at the bottom, making charging difficult. Simply use the mirror mount to keep the toothbrush bottom clean and dry.
- You can’t buy the heads in a store, you always have to order them online. But this is true for all eco-friendly electric toothbrushes I’ve seen so far.
- On the company’s webpage, it’s unclear where the toothbrushes are made; research shows they’re produced in China. This raises concerns due to possible poor working conditions. Honestly, I expected more from an eco-friendly company.
All in all, I think the pros outweigh the cons. I love my new SURI toothbrush and I would definitely buy it again.
Comparing Suri Toothbrush with Other Brands
Oral-B
Oral-B offers a wide range of electric toothbrushes, differing in design and functionality. While the SURI toothbrush boasts a slim, stylish, and durable design, Oral-B toothbrushes tend to have a bulkier design compared to SURI.
Before I got my SURI toothbrush I had an Orab-B toothbrush for years and was quite happy with it. So, to be honest, if your Oral-B toothbrush still works I would probably recommend just continue using it. But if you’re looking for a new electronic toothbrush SURI is a great option.
Other eco-friendly electric toothbrushes
Most other eco-friendly electric toothbrushes use heads made out of bamboo. I had one of those toothbrushes and for me the head felt a bit unhygienic after a while. In all fairness, this might be because I use the heads usually a bit longer than I’m supposed to.
The SURI toothbrush just feels more hygienic to me especially since you can clean it in it’s case.

Pricing and Guarantees
Cost and Value
As for the cost of the Suri Sustainable Electric Toothbrush, it is priced at under $100. In my opinion, it’s a reasonable price considering the eco-friendly and sustainable features of the toothbrush and its longevity.
It also has excellent battery life and provides a simple and effective brushing experience. I believe it’s worth the money for those who prioritise both oral health and environmental concerns.
Warranty and Repairability
The Suri Sustainable Electric Toothbrush comes with a one-year guarantee. However, by subscribing to receive regular new brush heads, customers are eligible for a forever guarantee. Without it, you can still send in your toothbrush to be repaired but you have to pay a fee for it.

Additional Considerations
Travel Friendliness
As someone who enjoys travelling, I find the Suri toothbrush quite travel-friendly due to its slim and lightweight design.
The toothbrush measures 22cm in length and has an oval shaft of 2cm wide by 1.5cm deep, making it easy to pack and carry around. So it easily fits in my minimalist backpack.
The possibility of recharging the toothbrush using its USB cable ensures that I don’t need a special adaptor just for my toothbrush.
The toothbrush case, though bulkier, ensures hygiene during travel by protecting the brush head from other items in your toiletry bag. Plus, you can use the case’s integrated UV light to clean your toothbrush.
The only downside of using the SURI toothbrush while traveling is that you can’t use the mirror mount and you have to store it differently.
By the way, did you know that you have to put an electric toothbrush in your carry-on luggage and not your check-in luggage?
Dentist Recommendations
It’s important to me that my toothbrush complies with dentist recommendations, and the SURI toothbrush does just that. This sonic toothbrush offers 33,000 sonic vibrations per minute, allowing me to achieve good cleaning results.
Though it lacks a pressure sensor, which dentists often recommend to prevent damage to teeth and gums, I find that the features provided by this toothbrush are still quite sufficient for my oral care routine.
