All-Vegan Restaurants in Brno: Where to Eat & What to Know

When I first started planning my weekend trip to Brno, I was genuinely excited by how many fully vegan restaurants in Brno there are. For a place its size, Brno seemed like a plant-based dream, modern cafรฉs, creative menus, and lots of variety.

But once I arrived, I quickly discovered something that surprised me: many of Brnoโ€™s vegan restaurants are closed on weekends. Some still open on Saturdays, but not all.

I visited almost every fully vegan spot in the city open on the weekend and added notes on the ones I missed. Whether youโ€™re in Brno for a weekend or a longer stay, this guide will help you find the best vegan food in Brno.

1. FRYENDS

I found FRYENDS recommended as a great spot for vegan brunch. The entrance is easy to miss, just a small doorway, but once inside, it opens up into a bright, spacious cafรฉ with a cute little courtyard and some outdoor seating.

We tried the avocado bread and Czech-style pancakes, which were beautifully presented but the breakfast options were quite limited. Iโ€™d actually recommend FRYENDS more as a lunch spot, when their menu really shines.

2. VEGALITร‰

A traditional Czech dish gets a vegan twistโ€”five fluffy potato dumplings filled with savory lentil mixture, served with caramelized onions, fresh herbs, and red cabbage on a white plate inside a casual pub setting.

If youโ€™re looking for vegan versions of traditional Czech food, VEGALITร‰ is the place to go. I had the stuffed dumplings with red cabbage, and it was honestly one of the best meals of the trip, flavorful, filling, and super satisfying.

The restaurant is located down a staircase in a cellar, so it has a dark, edgy vibe with sticker-covered walls and no natural light. Because of that, Iโ€™d recommend it more for dinner than lunch, it just feels more atmospheric in the evening.

They sometimes host live music at night, but keep in mind that when thereโ€™s a concert, youโ€™ll need a separate ticket and the kitchen may be closed.

3. Vegan AF Ramen

Located in a stylish underground space, Vegan AF Ramen is one of Brnoโ€™s top vegan spots. We went there on our first night, and all the tables were booked, so we had to wait at the entrance for one to open up. If youโ€™re going in the evening, make a reservation.

The ramen bowls are rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My non-vegan friend said it was one of the best ramen dishes sheโ€™s ever had. For me, the flavors were almost a little too intense, but thatโ€™s just personal taste, since I usually cook with less seasoning.

4. Lรกkavรก kavรกrna

A cozy cafรฉ table spread featuring a cinnamon roll, an almond Danish pastry, a foamy latte with latte art, and a bottle of Wostok pomegranate-date soda. The rustic setting adds to the laid-back, homey vibe.

A little outside the city center, Lรกkavรก kavรกrna is a cozy cafรฉ thatโ€™s totally worth the walk, especially if youโ€™re already exploring the nearby street art scene. For me, hunting for street art was one of the best things on my Brno trip, and this cafรฉ was the perfect stop along the way.

They serve vegan sandwiches and have a great cake selection, with a warm, relaxed atmosphere thatโ€™s ideal for a slow morning or afternoon break.

5. Zรกkladna Tล™i Ocรกsci

Cozy interior of a vegan-friendly cafรฉ and community space with exposed brick arches, mismatched wooden tables and chairs, and colorful books arranged on wooden shelves; armchairs and soft lighting add a homey, relaxed vibe.

We stumbled upon Zรกkladna Tล™i Ocรกsci by chance, and Iโ€™m so glad we did. There were people sitting outside, a wood-fired pizza oven, and a relaxed vibe that drew us in. Turns out, it was a weekend pop-up pizza event, and the food was great.

This spot is located underground (with a few small windows) and has a rotating menu during the week. On weekends, they often host pop-up events and community gatherings, so itโ€™s a bit of a hit-or-miss if you donโ€™t check ahead.

โš ๏ธ They only accept cash (Czech Crowns), and they donโ€™t list their hours on Google Maps.

6. Veg8Cafรฉ

I didnโ€™t make it to Veg8Cafรฉ because itโ€™s closed during my weekend trip to Brno, but itโ€™s definitely on my list for a future visit. Located a bit outside the city center, this spot is known for its healthy, affordable lunch menus.

They offer a daily changing lunch menu with one soup and two mains to choose from, plus a selection of cakes. At just 160 CZK (around โ‚ฌ6.50) for soup and a main, itโ€™s a fantastic option if youโ€™re in Brno during the week.

7. Pizza Punk

Pizza Punk has the best vegan pizza in Brno. They have just a handful of options but they’ve perfected those. They offer four regular pizzas plus two weekly specials.

The indoor space is tiny, so seating can be limited, but if you donโ€™t find a spot, just grab your pizza to go and enjoy it on one of the nearby squares.

8. Cafรฉ In The Ghetto

Cafรฉ In The Ghetto is a cozy, welcoming spot that blends cafรฉ, bar, and community space. It has a homey, alternative vibe, and serves a changing daily menu, along with drinks and desserts.

Theyโ€™re known for hosting exhibitions and cultural events, and they’re operated by a nonprofit social enterprise. The cafรฉ also provides training opportunities for people transitioning into the workforce.

9. Restaurace Zdravรฝ ลฝivot

Restaurace Zdravรฝ ลฝivot is a fully vegan buffet-style restaurant thatโ€™s great for a quick and flexible midweek lunch. You pay by weight, so you can try a variety of dishes without committing to a full plate.

The food is based on macrobiotic principles and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and while reviews are mostly positive, a few people mention that the food could be hotter.

โš ๏ธ Watch out: While the food is 100% vegan, they do serve cowโ€™s milk with coffee.

10. Forkyโ€™s Galerie Vaลˆkovka

Forkyโ€™s used to be a big name in the vegan world, with locations in multiple countries, but most of their branches have since closed. This Brno location inside the Galerie Vaลˆkovka mall is one of the few still open.

While they once had a great reputation, they now get very mixed reviews, and it seems the quality has gone down in recent years. If youโ€™re nearby and looking for something quick and convenient, it might be worth a try, but itโ€™s definitely not worth a detour.

Final Thoughts: Is Brno Good for Vegans?

Brnoโ€™s vegan scene is small but strong, creative, affordable, and definitely worth exploring. And since many non-vegan restaurants don’t have plant-based options, sticking to fully vegan places is your best bet. Just remember that many spots close on Sundays, so plan ahead.

In summer, donโ€™t miss the vegan ice cream vendor at Moravian Square Park (toward Raลกรญnova Street).
